The mattress was just about 1 inch lower. It was fantastic for night times. SO much nicer than having to get up and out of bed. If he starts moving around more you might look into those or just tie his crib to your bed through your mattress.

Loved the post always praying for you guys....Pennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02027920490798367239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5348155237652648174.post-71749821024593926102010-03-13T20:54:35.685-06:002010-03-13T20:54:35.685-06:00Oh so glad to read this post. I hear your frustrations and I hear your celebrations. I had a child with a heart condition and I remember the many many many trips to his crib at each sound he made. Sounds like a wonderful idea to put him closer. Don't worry about anyone judging you. They do not know and they have never walked in your shoes. You are an amazing mom and you are doing what you need to do to survive. Have a wonderful weekend with Tripp's beautiful eyes peeking out at you. You do whatever it is that you need to ...Courtney,

You do whatever it is that you need to do to get sleep. I understand some about getting out of bed to take care of little ones. Our son caught Pertussis when he was 8 weeks old, and would literally have a coughing fit every 45 minutes--ALL DAY LONG. His crib was already in our room, but I couldn't see him from the bed, so I would have to get out of bed to make sure he didn't turn blue and was still breathing after his coughing episode. We finally moved the crib right next to our bed, and had him sleep in his bouncy seat so his head was elevated. Even tho he wasn't coughing less and I was still awake every 45 minutes, the fact that I didn't have to get out of the bed made a WORLD of difference. My body just felt more rested.

I pray that these eye abrasions become less and less as he gets older, and that God will keep protecting him, and give you strengh.

AmandaAmandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12185614140962741761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5348155237652648174.post-69288000537468669192010-03-12T22:02:01.251-06:002010-03-12T22:02:01.251-06:00Oh I am so grateful to read that Tripp's eye i...Oh I am so grateful to read that Tripp's eye is healing, and he is beginning to feel a little more like his normal self.

I'm also so glad to hear that you have some helpers coming around. It sounds like it's in your nature to want to do it all, but if someone is qualified, do try to let them help...you really do need to "refill your tanks" so you can keep on giving Tripp all you can! She keeps her eyes shut for days and then we live in the dark for a few days after because her eyes are so sensitive. They seem to heal up quick but the poor little peanut suffers when she has them. Tripp is getting so big!!
