  12. Courtney! Beautiful photo and Merry Christmas! I wanted to comment on your last post- I have been a reader of your blog since the beginning, but I rarely get to comment because I usually read your blog on my phone (google reader) which doesn't allow comments. ANYWAY- I just wanted to send you some love and support. You are an AMAZING and inspiring mom, and if anyone questions your intentions regarding Tripp, then they OBVIOUSLY do not know you or your beautiful, mother warrior heart. I can't say enough how amazing I think you are, and how Tripp was blessed with the most perfect mommy for him. I was talking with my family the other night about you, and we were marvelling over how Tripp could not have been matched with a more perfect mom for him. You are so patient and caring, and I just want to tell you how much I admire you as a mom. ((((hugs)))) Merry Christmas, girl! Sending you much love and light...

  20. Merry Christmas! This Christmas I am thinking about your family everyday. I followed your blog for less than a year. In another country, far away. But from reading these past 10 months about what you go through I feel like I have become a better person. At least I appreciate life and health in a completely different way now. Tripp is so special, and so are you. I am amazed of both of your strengths. I wish Tripp could understand how many hearts he has touched and how many lives he has changed. Even my life is changed because of him and I think that is incredible! This young little boy. He is a gift from God, a very special gift.

EB on the other hand is the worst disease I have ever heard of or seen. It's horrific and I hope with all of my heart that someday a cure will be here. I am just so sad that the cure won't be here in time to help you.

I wish you a calm Christmas filled with love. And I hope Tripp can enjoy himself and won't be in too much pain.

Love from me and my family <3

  24. Hi

I have been following you for the last two years.
Im also from Louisiana but currently living in NJ.
I have nothing but great respect and love for you and your beautiful boy.
Those judgemental people can shove it where it does not shine. :)
I have donated over $100 and will continue for your baby boy. I swell up with joy whenever your blog gets posted! I have a six year old son who also follow your blog. I only have one son. He has for years stated that he DOES NOT want a brother or sister....He changed his mind recently and said he ll be Tripps older brother. That brought me to tears. I was so stinking proud of him. He has send Tripp an oranment with Elmo stickers.

Best of luck with Tripps health and your relationship with your new man :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!!

    With love

  28. Courtney,

I've always already written you on this post {#4}, I need you to know something. Please know that God is working through your precious baby boy. This verse you quoted today gave me chills & tears when I read it earlier. I knew right then Tripp is a plan of God.
I am a newly wed who just started a book study with other wives about how to be a Christian wife. I know this really has nothing to do with Tripp but please, hear me out. We get together every Tuesday and discuss one chapter at a time. This past Tuesday, the discussion was a lot of Eve choosing the apple, and what the outcome of it. Yaddi Yaddi Ya! After we were finished, a christian wife of three years asked a question to the leader of the study that has always questioned her but she never knew the answer.
"Why is it we praise God when good things happen to us{because we are supposed to} but when bad things happen, we are told 'Not to ask why God would do this or blame God.'"
Our leader, who knows the bible very well, tried to explain it but couldn't really get to it so she then called a member of her church and asked for help. He said something along the lines of 'God never causes the bad, he allows it. God creates all good. Satan is the cause of bad.' Yaddi Yaddi Ya. The wife with the question felt better but I could still tell it wasn't clear. We then began to discuss different things, like examples & I brought up your amazing son, Tripp.
Me? I wasn't brought up in church, therefore I do not know a lot about the bible. I've been drawn closer to God & built my relationship with him about a year prior to getting engaged. When I brought up Tripp {which both of these ladies have already heard me talk about him prior too} I started to use him & what you write about as an example. I couldn't understand why this could happen to him and why he is suffering so badly. I explained you once stated that you felt God is working through Tripp to bring people closer. God suffered so much for us, as Tripp is doing... for me, and these two ladies as MANY other people out there in this world. Yesterday, I prayed in the middle of the day because I just felt the urge. Tripp.. & you were in those prayers, as always. I prayed for Tripp & for whatever reason this is happening to him to work in the matter of time. I told the lady with the question to read this blog, as I forwarded your URL. I don't know if she read it or not, but I will tell you when she got my text message today "Today on Tripps blog it states, "Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" -Job 2:10"
She wrote back with "Wow really? That's crazy!
Apparently she picked her bible up and read it because she then said "That's nutso! It's like God knew you would see that because we were talking about it the other night. I'm about to go read more of Job." Then she explained what JOb stated and how it answer her question but it also helps me understand Tripps situation. My last text to her was "Yes, now go read Tripps story because apparently that's why Tripp is here... to bring us the word of God."

Thank you for posting this verse for whatever brought you to it. I know this was a lot of ... yaddi yaddi ya, but I just want you to know Tripps suffering is working on all of us. Tripp is a child of God & I know you've touched on 'Tripp going home to the Lord', but he isn't finished working our spirits in his word of God.

May God bless you and Tripp! May God bless your family for the holidays. You & Tripp have changed me {as I've been telling everyone about him} since I first read your blog months ago.

Tripps is a very special child, as you know this, but believe that I hold him very close to my heart.

    Thank you for this verse.

  55. Hello,

I'm commenting from the UK. I had never heard about Tripp, his plight or, indeed, EB until I read an article about Tripp in the UK newspaper, the Daily Mail. I am a father, but also a hardened, ten year veteran, Police Detective; I read Tripps story, online, during a tea-break at work, and I'm not ashamed to admit that it broke my heart, and I wept. I have never in my life felt such a compulsion to do something to help.

Since reading the story, I have determined to learn as much as I can about this terrible disease, and do whatever I can to help; be that raising money or awareness.

My family and I wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year; and give the little man a kiss from us all.

  84. Hi
I not a believer and I havent been praying in ten to twenty years, but yesterday I started to read this blog and after that, I have been praying many many times. I dont know is there anybody listening me or am I saying the rigth words, but Im trying. Im praying the best I can. Im praying and Im crying. This is also my first time in years when Im crying like this. Im so sad at the moment...
Reading this blog has open my eyes. Now I know that the life it self, is the most precious gift ever and now I trully understand what you have been writing. I have three kids and I would do exactly like you have been doing.
No matter what will happen, Tripp will not be forgotten. He is the most strongest kid I know and I want to believe that there will be a good place reserved for him in the heaven.
I wish you merry Christmas and all the best for the year 2012.
I keep praying for Tripp, every day, every night.

  93. Courtney, I think of you so often. I am another one of the "you don't know me but..." people. I just think Tripp is so amazing. God did pick him especially to work miracles, and boy does he ever. But I think the part you gloss over is that when he picked Tripp, he picked you too. I am a single momma myself. I adopted my daughter, who just turned two years old in December. I think about you and Tripp, and my daughter and I, and I want you to know, I come read your blog thinking not only could I never be as strong as Tripp -- I don't think I could be as strong, as loving, as gracious, as faithful, as you are. I hope you know that while Tripp shows me how to be a better person, you show me how to be a better Mommy. It's 2 a.m. on Christmas morning here in Little Rock, and I just hope that Santa brings something good to you both today. Merry Christmas.

  107. Hi Courtney,
I just came across your blog. Sweet girl, you are a true champion. As a mom who came very close to losing my son too many times to count, I feel some of your pain. I pleaded with God to take away my child's suffering- to let me carry it instead. You are everything to your precious son, just as he is to you. Tripp got his strength and his courage from you and your family. You are an inspiration, Courtney. An amazing, amazing example of all that a mother should be. 108. Courtney, I have been reading your blog for a few months now but this is my first comment. I want to let you know that you and Tripp are always in my thoughts and prayers. You are an amazingly strong woman and it is obvious that you are a spectacular mother. I cannot believe that people have the nerve to say such horrid things about you and your son when they themselves have never had to go through anything close to what Tripp family your family go through on a daily basis. I pray for them that God may open their eyes. I enjoy your pictures and videos and want you t know I am behind you 100%. Just keep doing your thing: being the best mommy possible to that angel Tripp! 109. Well i think you are a very brave person to do what you are doing! because i think most people would have given up already and acted like their child didn't exist. So to the people who think you are wrong they don't understand the pain you and your son are going through..I cried when i came to your page. I have 2 nieces 12 years old and 14 months; and two nephews 5 and 17 months and it broke my heart to think of them not being able to play or see...i'm sure when it's time for your son to go home to god he will go with a smile and peace in his heart.. because he was loved by a great mother and supporting family. i wish you, your son and your family nothing best in 2012. god bless!!

  112. Courtney, you and Tripp are on my mind and heart tonight as we see this old year out. I know 2011 brought a lot of changes to your life and Tripp'; changes that had to be heart rending to you. I pray as 2012 comes to us, a fresh gift from God, that somehow Tripp's health may improve and he can be more comfortable. I pray for continued strength for you and your mother. Caretakers of the severely ill are truly blessed by God to endure what they have to endure. God bless you little Tripp; your suffering causes many people sorrow; but yet your smile has won over the world - teaching us how to endure, how to make the best in unimaginable circumstances, and showing us the power of unconditional love! I promise in this new year to continue storming Heaven with my prayers for you and your family and to try to promote awareness of EB in any way I can. Love you Tripp! Happy New Year!

Pardon my little knowledge. but it seems stanford univ has developed some treatment which are in clinical trial phase/even though with lot of restrictions. but I could stop myself from posting this here, just in case it helps you people in any manner. http://dermatology.stanford.edu/research/research.html . I will pray this story has a positive end. Wishing u all a happy new year again.

  121. Courtney and Tripp,

I'm one of the thousands of people who say a prayer every night for you and your handsome little man. A prayer full of hope, love, and comfort. I make sure to keep up on the both of you and always hold my breath when I open up a new post from you in hopes there has been a miracle that has happend and Tripp is all better and there was a cure found for EB. I will admit I've been worried that there hasn't been any updates in the last couple of weeks and am hoping that you have just been super busy with the holiday season. I truly wish you both all the love and happiness in this new year.

Bless you for all you do for your trooper. You are his angel. You can tell in every picture how much he just loves you so.

Much love from my family to yours all the way in Minnesota :)
